Birthday Parties
Cosley Zoo has several types of parties. Choose the one that works best for you!
Birthday Basics
- Parties are available year-round.
- Parties are offered for ages 4 and over. Please see our Rentals page for children younger than 4 years old.
- All activities are age-appropriate for the birthday child.
- Parties are held on the second floor of the Vern Kiebler Learning center in a climate-controlled room.

Types of Parties Available:
Birthday Parties
These two hour parties start off with a fun educational experience for your guests followed by time to eat, open presents, and include your own activities if you wish. Download a birthday party brochure.
Party includes:
- 45 minutes of themed activities and an animal visit, facilitated by a Cosley Zoo Educator
- 75 minutes in the room for your own activities
- Ten (10) adult admission passes good for the day of your party
- See the à la carte menu for additional options
Cost:
$275; Cosley Zoo Members $245
Price is for up to ten (10) children, including the birthday child. Additional guests can be added for $12.95/child. Maximum of 15 children at a 4 year old party; maximum of 20 children at a 5-10 year old party; maximum of 10 adults.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required within one week of receiving your reservation packet.
Evening Parties
Just you and the animals! For children ages 7-12. Hold your child's 2-hour evening adventure between the hours of 5-9 pm.
Party includes:
- 60 minutes Guided Tour and Animal Encounter
- 60 minutes in the room for your own activities
Cost:
$375; Cosley Zoo Members $340
Price is for up to ten (10) children, including the birthday child. Additional guests can be added for $15.95/child. Maximum of 20 children; maximum of 10 adults.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required within one week of receiving your reservation packet.
Sleepover Parties
A pajama party at the zoo! Give your child and their friends an unforgettable birthday. It's an evening filled with activities including a night hike through the zoo and sleeping in the upstairs of the barn. In the morning watch the zoo come to life. Sleepover parties are available for children age 6-14 years. The party is fully-facilitated by two Cosley Zoo staff members; however two to four adult chaperones are required to stay overnight. Sleepover Parties are held from 6:30 pm-8 am.
Party includes:
- Themed activities and an animal visit
- Night hike
- Cake, ice cream, and drink
- Continental breakfast
- Favor bags with a Souvenir Cup for each guest
- Invitations and Thank You notes
Cost:
$700; Cosley Zoo Members $630
Price is for up to ten (10) children, including the birthday child. Additional guests can be added for $29.95/child. Maximum of 20 children.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is required within one week of receiving your reservation packet.
Scheduling
To schedule, call the Education Department at 630-665-5534 at least two weeks prior to the date. Parties are held on Saturdays and Sundays with limited availability on weekdays. Parties are available at the following times, unless otherwise noted:
- November-March: 9 am, 11:30 am, 2 pm*
- April-October: 9:30 am, 12:30 pm, 3 pm*
*Please Note: If you are the last party of the day, the zoo may be closed by the end of your party. If you would like to explore the zoo with your group, please plan on doing so before the party.
À la Carte Menu
- Additional animal visit: $25
- Favor bags: $20/group of 5
- Cake and ice cream: $40 (serves 20)
- Invitations and Thank You notes with envelopes: $7.50/pack of 10
- Juice boxes: $3.75/pack of 5
- Table settings: $3.75/set of 5
- Extra time in party room: $100/hour
